COMPARISON BETWEEN HYDROGEN SOURCE & LITHIUM SOURCE OF CLEAN ENERGY GENERATION
HYDROGEN & LITHIUM CLEAN ENERGY SOURCE
Reference from HICEV(Hydrogen Internal Combustion Engine Vehicle). They are different from Hydrogen Fuel Cell Vehicles which use electrochemical application hydrogen rather than combustion. The HICEV is a modified form of common gasoline-powered internal combustion engine. The absence of carbon signifies that no CO2 is produced ,which eliminates the main greenhouse gas emissions of a conventional petroleum engine.
Most electric vehicles use Lithium-ion batteries(Li-ions or LIBs). Lithium ion batteries energy source have higher energy density, longer life span and higher power density than most other practical batteries energy source.
Increasing the battery’s lifespan decreases effective costs and safety. The most important aspect of it is also it’s friendliness to the environment, just like the hydrogen source of Hydrogen Internal Combustion Engine, which does not emmit carbon.
The downside of Hydrogen clean energy source is that hydrogen is difficult to handle. Due to the very small size of the hydrogen molecule, hydrogen is able to leak through many apparently solid materials in a process called Hydrogen Embrittlement. Escaped hydrogen gas mixed with air is potentially explosive.
The main advantage of lithium source of clean energy generation is that lithium source is more safer, nothing like leakages since it is not gas. Thus, nothing like explosion.
